IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON NEW STICK STRINGING REQUIREMENTS AND LEGALITY FOR PLAY (BOYS ONLY)

Very recently WPYLA (which is our governing body) provided PYLAX clarification on US Lacrosse changes to equipment.  In particular, the stringing of the Crosse and a change to the legal shooting strings configurations.

Under US Lacrosse guidelines, for high school boys, "There shall be no channel in the pocket and no shooting strings any lower than 4 inches from the top of the head of the cross.  Specifically, it says that "Any additional strings or laces (e.g., shooting strings, V channels) must be located within 4 inches of the top of the crosse."  The penalty for violating this rule is a 3-minute non-releasable penalty, with the crosse remaining at the table for the remainder of the game."

We are attaching a pdf flyer for a visual understanding of this rule as well as for any new parents with us to better understand the email.  Additionally, should you wish we are including a link to a short video explaining the rule changes in their entirety.

WPYLA Clarified for us today that their officials will be enforcing this rule at the youth level for the season.  This means, that if any of your players have a string configuration with a U or V it may have to be restrung to comply with the new rule or will cause the team a 3 min unreleasable penalty.

We are unsure at this time if there will be any leeway in enforcement of this rule by the officials, so please read, understand, and if necessary work to get your players stick restrung as soon as possible.

Any questions on this rule may be directed to your coach.  Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
